Anne paints in oils, pastels, charcoal or watercolors about people places and things that are integral to her life. She works directly from her subjects, whether that be the barns, landscapes, and seascapes of her native New England, the cows and farms of upstate New York and Long Island, or the found objects and flowers seen in her still-life works. She enjoys the experience of working en plein-air during all 4 seasons, often painting outdoors under the meager shelter of an umbrella or her hatch back jeep. Intimate connections with her subject space is keen to her inspiration, as well as the subtleties of natural light. Her carefully composed compositions encourage the viewer into the privacy of an encounter with each painting.
She received her formal painting instruction at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and earned her graduate degree at New York University. Additional Study includes workshops and classes with Gregory Gillespie, Jon Peters, Richard Baker, Joel Janowitz, Wolf Kahn, Frederick Brosen, Martha Erlbacher, Daniel Greene and her mentor, the late Roger van Damme.
In addition to her pursuits as a Painter, Anne has worked as an Art Consultant with Japanese museums, corporations and private investors and as an instructor of Painting and Art History. She maintains studios in Long Island and upstate New York. She has been painting and selling her artwork since 1980.
